On The Move Visitors Welcome
Most of our regular customers know that we are very proud of our certified organic vineyards - 30 acres in total where no pesticides or other synthetic chemicals are used. What is less obvious, is that we have a further 80 acres reserved for wildlife as part of our abiding commitment to the environment. During this time of year we love to have migrating visitors: the soaring ducks (above) seem to really enjoy our pond. And we've recently seen a Golden Eagle, hawks, blue heron and a bobcat! That is in addition to the regular complement of songbirds, rabbits and the occasional deer. All contribute to make Yorkville a very special place to enjoy. Monthly Special - Malbec Malbec is fast becoming the 'hot' wine. With more than 40,000 acres, mainly in the arid highlands of Mendoza, Malbec is highly associated with Argentina. However it is originally a French grape, used in the blends of Bourdeaux and Cahors. Unfortunately, with only 1,153 bearing acres in California (out of over a half million winegrape vineyard acres), it is still relatively rare here.
This 2005 vintage is our 10th consecutive vintage of Malbec from our estate vineyard, and it is 100% Malbec, and 100% certified organic grapes! Since we typically only produce about 500 cases of this wine annually, you can expect this to be the one and only Malbec offer for this vintage. You could share a bottle of Malbec with your sweetheart. Also, since February tends to be chocolate month, many comment that Malbec goes very well with chocolate. Tasting room price $22.
