Our 14th vintage out of our back vineyard that we call “Randle Hill.” Randle is Deborah’s maiden name. This vineyard has consistently produced one of the best S.B.’s around and we’re very proud of it. Great aromas of lemon drop or sweet lime with a hint of floral and tropical. We find flavors of kiwi, tangerine, and granny smith apples. Our typical Yorkville long finish with lime zest and minerals.

2006 Semillon
With limited plantings in California, it is becoming difficult to find Semillon bottled separately. However this is our 14th consecutive vintage release. This wine features lots of racy lime flavors, and lime zest aromas as well as notes of mango and vanilla. Steely mid-palate with a note of straw in the lingering finish. A favorite grape of our local wild boar; we have to fight to keep our share! Click to Continue

2006 Eleanor of Aquitaine
A proprietors blend assembled from our very best barrels hand choosen after many blending trials. It is a blend of Semillon (56%) and Sauvignon Blanc (44%), a wine made in the classic tradition of the Graves style Bordeaux Blanc. Our special Queen of white wine is 100% barrel fermented in small French oak barrels to add great complexity. Some people say this is "the white wine for red wine drinkers."

2005 Cabernet Franc
A grape that is getting noticed a bit more these days - this is a delicious example of that "other" Cabernet, which is actually a much older grape variety than Cabernet Sauvignon. Elegant and smooth, with a solid core of blueberry/cherry fruit. Quite aromatic, with raspberry leaf, violets, a light smoky-gamey note, and a hint of burnt sugar. Flavor of violet pastille leads to a light cranberry bite in finish.

2005 Carmenere
A brand new wine for us here at Yorkville Cellars - this is a grape that was once widely grown in Bordeaux and considered nearly extinct until it was re-discovered in Chile. The wine is similar to a darker, brooding Merlot, with outstanding complexity and balance. Roses, anise, smokey-leafy note on nose. Blueberry fruit on nose and palate, some tart cherry notes mid-palate, with an exceptionally smooth finish.

2005 Malbec
We’re seeing more and more Malbec on the shelves in fine wine shops – mostly from Argentina, where they have 40,466 acres planted. In Bordeaux in southwestern France where it originated, Malbec continues to be a traditional blending grape. Regretably, there are only 1,153 bearing Malbec acres (compared to 75,909 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon) out of a total of 475,219 acres of vineyard in California. We're certainly happy that we have some as it makes a terrific wine! Click to Continue

2005 Petit Verdot
A late ripening grape, usually the last that we pick.
Ours has great aromas: leafy-bramble, spice and floral notes. Plum fruit flavors mid-palate, finishing with medium tannins. Our 2005 vintage has won a Gold medal at the New World International Wine Competition. You have the choice of drinking it now or waiting. The other night we enjoyed a 1996 out of our library with roast pork and can confirm Petit Verdot ages well.Click to Continue

2004 Richard the Lion-Heart
Our Richard the Lion-Heart is carefully blended, using the very best barrels of our certified organic estate grown grapes. The 2004 vintage is our first to include six varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. This may be the only estate grown, California wine blended from all six of the classic Bordeaux red varietals. Wine critics typically compare it favorably to wines at twice the price and even more, so it represents great Mendocino "bang for the buck."
